Activities done here
Pediatric Neurologist/Paediatrician with special training on neurology will ask all the details of seizure – preferably following the ‘proposed diagnostic scheme for people with epileptic seizures and epilepsy’ by ILAE. They will also perform general and neurological examinations. Children having associated developmental problems-like difficulties with language, communication, social interaction, learning, behaviour or movement disorders or in-coordination are referred to the Neurodevelopmental clinic for proper assessment, and from there to developmental therapy clinic after receiving treatment for epilepsy. The team will also discuss and answer any particular concerns that the parents may have. Required investigations including imaging and EEG are arranged from the centre. Some of the children with epilepsy who are refractory to AED or having status epilepticus might need admission to the in-patient Paediatric Neurology department arranged from here. Proper and regular follow up of all children are maintained.
